Lower Macungie Fire Department

The Lower Macungie Fire Department is a 100% volunteer fire department located in Lower Macungie Township, Pennsylvania. Incorporated as a non-profit organization with the EIN 232975078, it was originally founded as part of the Wescosville Fire Company and later established as the Lower Macungie Fire Department in 1998.

History and Service Area

The fire department serves not only Lower Macungie Township but also the Boroughs of Alburtis and Macungie. Over the years, the department has grown alongside the community to meet increasing needs. Today, it operates out of three stations located in Alburtis, Brandywine, and Wescosville.

Lower Macungie Fire Department responds to approximately 600-700 emergency calls annually, providing professional fire protection services to a population of about 35,000 residents across an area spanning over 23 square miles.

Structure and Equipment

The department maintains a fleet of apparatus, including both modern emergency vehicles and some historical pieces, such as Engine 80, a 1954 GMC 630, and a retired Engine 30 kept as a museum piece.
