We rescue rehabilitate and release nearly 3000 birds each year while educating the public about the importance of these birds to ecosystem health.

THE BIRD RESCUE CENTER
Baby Bird Season has officially begun here at BRC. 🐣 We’re currently admitting a handful of babies each day, a number that will soon climb to 10, 20, 30 and even 40 tiny new patients each and every day. The most common species we’re seeing right now are baby finches, juncos and hummingbirds, although we do also have raptors and adult birds in care.

A Cooper’s Hawk soars to freedom. 🪶🪶🪶 After being chased by a dog and trapped in a greenhouse up in Mendocino County, this beautiful Cooper’s Hawk was brought to us for care. She had a broken tail, other feather damage, and appeared to be stunned—whether from trauma or the long ride in an enclosed box was yet to be determined.
