Amigas Swim
Amigas SWIM's target population is girls under 21 who are pregnant and/or who already have children. Amigas SWIM has developed a grass roots assistance project, designed to help "Keep Young Moms From Sinking". We have stocked a well organized dispensary of items deperately needed by teen moms. We established a small thrift shop which has been open and operational since August 1, 2007 in Sacramento, California. Amigas SWIM receives donated personal property. Most of the goods are retailed out of our shop and the related net revenues are earmarked for use in funding teen pregnancy prevention and awareness projects. While sorting donations, volunteers set aside those shool clothes, school supplies, baby and nursery items most needed and they are then distributed to our teen mom constituents.
