This month and every month, we recognize the children and youth navigating the child welfare system, and the foster and kinship families who open their hearts and homes. At Children’s Action Alliance, we believe every child deserves safety, support, and stability. That is why we advocate for policies rooted in dignity, equity, and lived experience, and keep families together. Let’s work toward a future where all children and families can thrive. #FosterCareAwarenessMonth #SupportFosterYouth #ChildWelfareMatters (fb)

This morning, the U.S. House passed a budget reconciliation bill that includes devastating cuts to health care and nutrition programs. As a consequence of this harmful bill, more children, families, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities will face hunger and lose access to healthcare. Thank you to Rep. Ansari and Rep. Stanton for standing up for Arizonans by voting no. We’re disappointed that Rep. Schweikert did not vote and that Reps. Biggs, Ciscomani, Crane, Gosar, and Hamadeh supported a bill that puts so many at risk. We’re also thankful to every Arizonan who raised their voice. Your advocacy made a difference, and the work continues as the bill moves to the Senate. (fb)
