Gosh, where do I even start? I’m still trying to find the words. Memorial Day always hits different, but this year—this journey—has been something else entirely. Vest Up isn’t just a 65-mile trek. It’s not just miles on the pavement or sore legs and tired feet. It’s a moving tribute. A living promise. A reminder that freedom isn’t free—and that we owe so much to those who gave everything. Every step we took was for someone who no longer can. For the fallen. For the families who carry their memory every single day. For the brothers and sisters who wear the weight of loss like a second skin. I thank those who shared their WHY with me. We walked to honor. We walked to remember.
