A few years ago, this sweet girl was running wild and abandoned in an apartment complex in San Antonio Tx. Like so many others, she was adopted from ACS then abandoned to fend on her own for months. Our sister rescue Gods Dogs, who have helped us so much in all our years, secured her safely. found her a foster till transport to us, even vetted her and obtained her health certificate to travel-just a wonderful rescue if you're looking for more angels to support. Eleanor finally arrived, and as we always say, "things happen for a reason", a young couple applied to foster her. The home, and her new parents, could not have been more perfect. In fact, give us another 50 or so fosters like these two. Eleanor ended up adopted, saw her parents marry, saw a nice job promotion and a move to Tennessee with a yard that is her kind of heaven. She's defeated heartworms, developed CHF earlier on, the usual aches and pains associated with being 15, 16 years old, and faced each challenge with courage. Last week she gave her mom and dad a scare developing fluid in her lungs, but so much better today. Tummy has gone down and most of the fluid has dissipated. She let mom know she wanted to go hiking this morning. Send her some good vibes and prayers. Eleanor is so loved, I mean like every dog would kill for a home and parents likes hers. These two young people are the future of our world and we need millions more like them. To pick a stray, senior, medically challenged dog to pour your heart into, over every other dogs also needing a foster, well, they're our kind of peeps. Nearly kept Eleanor and that would have been a tragedy. She's where she needs to be with who she needs to be with. One of the best love stories of the rescue <3 (fb)
