Colorado Lawyers Committee
Legal Advocacy for the Community since 1978 Colorado Lawyers Committee is a nonpartisan consortium of around 80 Colorado law firms dedicated to creating and increasing opportunities for children, the poor and other disadvantaged communities through advocacy, negotiation and litigation. The lawyers who donate their time focus primarily on major public policy issues and systemic changes rather than representation of individuals, unless their issues impact a large number of people. The Colorado Lawyers Committee usually has about 20 active projects and task forces in the areas of Poverty & Public Benefits, Civil Rights & Criminal Law, Children’s Rights & Education, Community Development and Immigration.

Colorado Lawyers Committee The Colorado Lawyers Committee is a nonpartisan consortium of nearly 80 Colorado law firms dedicated to creating and increasing opportunities for children and underserved communities through pro bono legal advocacy negotiation and litigation. This past year almost 1000 volunteers contributed more than6500 hours and 3. 2million worthof time to our 29 projects and task forces. One of the unique characteristics of the Lawyers Committee is our focus on major public policy issues and systemic change rather than individual representation unless its a case that impacts a larger population.

🌟 Get to Know Our Team 🌟 Meet Megan Dempsey, Legal Program Administrator at the Colorado Lawyers Committee. Megan Marie Dempsey joined CLC in 2025 and coordinates Denver Legal Night, Virtual Pro Se Clinics, CLC’s social media platforms, and supports CLC task forces and events. She works closely with volunteer attorneys and community partners to ensure these programs thrive and expand access to justice.

🌟 Get to Know Our Team 🌟 Meet Dillon, a second-year law student at the University of Colorado Boulder School of Law and current intern with the Colorado Lawyers Committee. Before pursuing law, he studied Architectural Engineering with a focus in Construction and gained experience working with Governor Polis’s office, a workers’ compensation lawyer, and a construction firm. As an intern at CLC, Dillon contributes his skills in legal research and critical thinking to support our work.
