White River Area Agency on Aging, Inc.
The White River Area Agency on Aging, Inc. was founded in 1979 to advocate for, and develop a coordinated system of programs and services that improve and enhance the quality of life for older and at-risk adults and enables them to live independently with dignity in the least restrictive environment. The agency was founded by several older persons interested in establishing in-home, nutrition, and senior center services for older people in a 10-county area. The agency now serves more than 6,000 older persons annually, with over 2,000 being at or below poverty.
