Our Mission is to represent our members on local state and national water issues.We also represent members on legislative issues. We conduct workshops and conferences and we provide quarterly newsletters to keep members informed of important issues.

Utah Water Users Association

The association is the largest active group of water user entities in Utah, representing a wide range of interests including irrigation companies, municipal users, industries, and federal, state, county, and local agencies.

Mission and Objectives

The mission of the Utah Water Users Association includes protecting water rights administered under state law and promoting the conservation and efficient use of water. The association also provides legislative support and sponsors workshops and seminars related to water issues. Additionally, it offers technical advice to its members on various aspects of water management, such as regulation, measurement, distribution, contract administration, and conflict resolution.

Membership and Activities

The association has a diverse membership base comprising over 600 entities, including approximately 300 irrigation companies, numerous state agencies, water conservancy districts, cities, industries, engineering firms, and law firms. Members benefit from quarterly newsletters and support in addressing water-related issues.

The Utah Water Users Association is active during legislative sessions, monitoring and lobbying water-related bills that impact its members. It also engages in national water policies through its affiliation with the National Water Resources Association.

Events

One of the key events organized by the association is the annual Utah Water Users Workshop, which is held in St. George and serves as a platform for members to discuss current water issues and best practices. The association also participates in other significant water-related conferences and seminars, contributing to broader discussions on water challenges in the region.

Organizational Structure

The association is governed by a 31-member Board of Directors, supported by an Executive Committee responsible for overseeing its activities. The members of the board represent every county and geographic area in Utah, ensuring comprehensive representation across the state.

National Affiliations
