SMOKY MOUNTAIN QUILTERS STRIVES TO ADVANCE THE KNOWLEDGE AND APPRECIATION OF THE CRAFTSMANSHIP, ARTISTIC EXPRESSION, AND HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF QUILTMAKING; TO SPONSOR AND SUPPORT CHARITABLE PROJECTS TO PROVIDE ENCOURAGEMENT TO THOSE IN NEED; AND TO PROMOTE FRIENDSHIP THROUGH SHARED ACTIVITIES.
