Sierra Madre Mountain Conservancy HOME ABOUT US ACCOMPLISHMENTS GOALS More The Sierra Madre Mountain Conservancy SMMC is a local nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to the protection and preservation of the natural beauty and integrity of the foothills along Sierra Madres northern boundary. Incorporated in 1989 we are the first local conservancy to organize in the San Gabriel Valley. For many years Sierra Madre residents have enjoyed and benefited from the chaparralcovered foothills that provide natural habitat for wildlife a beautiful viewscape a nearpristine watershed and protection from destructive flooding and erosion. The SMMC is dedicated to ensure that this land is protected for all to enjoy into the future.
