OREGON HEAD START ASSOCIATION
Research shows that children in Head Start have better pre-reading, prewriting and vocabulary skills. Families can support their child's literacy learning at home by creating a family reading corner and reading a story or two to their child each night and making regular visits to your local library. These are simple ways to help prepare children for kindergarten and beyond while also helping parents stay engaged in their child's learning and success.
