Around the world people are recognizing the importance of our ancient relationship with pigments. As more research is conducted on how the human brain developed with the help of earth pigments like red iron oxide limonite and manganese we begin to see how inextricably bound we are to this Earth mentally spiritually and physically. PRI celebrates this bond and as we see people replacing synthetic paints with paint made from natural materials we also see people reengaging with the Earth others and themselves as they forage for and share pigments with one another.
