Kicking off Alcohol Awareness Month with impact! Today, at the RBHAO’s Statewide Adult Alcohol Awareness Conference, John Hamilton, President & CEO of Liberation Programs, led a powerful workshop on Alcohol Use Disorder—diving deep into the connection between trauma and addiction. His session highlighted how recovery must be rooted in understanding what drives substance use at its core. “Trauma is not what happens to you. It’s what happens inside of you as a result of what happens to you. It’s the loss of self that makes it difficult to be in the present moment, to be here, to be now, to have the capacity to be present.” —Gabor Maté, as shared in John’s presentation. We’re grateful to John and all who joined in advancing trauma-informed, compassionate approaches to treating alcohol use disorder. 💙 Let’s continue this important work all month long. #AlcoholAwarenessMonth #AlcoholAwareness #TraumaInformedCare #LiberationPrograms #JohnHamilton #RBHAO #AddictionRecovery #GaborMate #HealingStartsHere #MentalHealthMatters #PublicHealth (fb)

Since 1984, this month has been dedicated to honoring the incredible impact of social workers—and this year’s theme, “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Wellbeing,” says it all. Social workers are the bridge between generations, helping individuals and communities heal, grow, and thrive. At Liberation Programs, we’re proud to have an extraordinary team of social workers—including interns, MSWs, LMSWs, LCSWs, and even a DSW—who bring compassion, dedication, and expert care to everything they do. Join us in celebrating: Antoinette Allen, Robert Boback, Amy Dorsey, Lucinda Dubois, Sierra Gallagi, Mary Gates, Robert Horn, Nicole Jezairian, Elizabeth Juliano, Kaitlyn McCarthy, Joanne Montgomery, Christena O’Dwyer, Donna Underhill, Samantha Usherov, Kenneth Williams, Nadine Willams, and Dr. Maggie Young. Thank you for strengthening lives, supporting recovery, mental health awareness, and inspiring hope—this month and every day. #SocialWorkMonth #ThankYouSocialWorkers #LiberationPrograms #CompassionCareConnection #RecoverySupport #IntergenerationalWellbeing (fb)
