We're so grateful she's feeling better! In the face of dramatic 30-degree temperature swings, hydration and electrolytes are essential, but what truly protects our rescued residents is knowing them intimately. It's in recognizing the smallest shifts, a quieter morning, a slower step, a different look in the eyes. Today, Willow was quieter than normal and still warm after yesterday’s heat. Because we know her so well, we noticed right away and gave her fluids with dextrose and vitamins to rehydrate and cool her down. She's feeling much better this afternoon, so we celebrated with chilled watermelon. This is what compassionate, individualized care looks like.
