Girl In Yellow Foundation's goal is to improve lives around the world by enabling women to obtain an education and become leaders in their communities. Our goal is to provide scholarships to young women in rural India and elsewhere. US based. www.girlin Girl in Yellow Foundation provides scholarships to girls from rural India whose families lack the financial resources to allow them to finish their schooling, preventing them from receiving a complete education. From age 14, we help high risk girls remain in school, pay their tuition, books, testing materials, uniform, transportation, and a stipend for an activity of their choice. Once she finishes high school, we also offer support for college. In 2013, GIY's founder was struck by a young girl he encountered stitching garments for about $1/day. She was forced to stop attending school, marry, and work upwards of 16 hours a day to support her family. Realizing the low cost of tuition for a girl like her, GIY was founded to girls stay in school to receive the complete education they deserve.
