CRES was founded in 2000 as a nonprofit taxexempt educational organization under Section 501 c3 of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Contributions are received from foundations corporations and individuals as well as state and federal sources as appropriate. CRES seeks to assess the current state of science on environmental issues and identify critical gaps.
