In the spring of 2016 we brought together a group of conservative leaders and criminal justice advocates to explore interest in forming a conservative led advocacy organization focused on pragmatic criminal justice reform. We realized that because of tough on crime values often conservatives were reluctant to demand the same accountability and efficiency of our public safety systems as we expect of all other sectors of government.
