Breakthrough: Deaf Advocacy Plus Independent Living Center guarantees inclusivity to Deaf consumers under effective communication required in American Disability Act Title II regulations in a consumer-run facility serving individuals and collective, people with disabilities, as everybody works toward establishing further civil rights and equity for all people under the A.D.A. The organization provides Deaf advocacy, ASL access workshops, coordination, outreach, peer support counseling, and skill training including information and referral, nursing home and youth transition information and support. About 40 or more Deaf people are thrilled to come to our office. The organization looks forward to providing independent living services to more than 87.000 Deaf residents in Philadelphia.
