In early May, House Bill 932 was signed into law, directing a percentage of Montana marijuana tax revenue dollars to build wildlife crossings. These dollars will live in the newly established wildlife crossings account, created by House Bill 855 this session. Breaking News! 🎉 Together, we stopped the sale of our public lands. Late last night, the US House of Representatives removed an amendment from the House Budget that would have sold more than 500,000 acres of public lands in Nevada and Utah. We extend a huge thank you to Representative Ryan Zinke (MT) for championing this effort and to Representatives like Rep. Mike Simpson (ID) who voted to keep public lands in public hands. And thank you to all of you who spoke up for public lands – your voices made a difference. While we breathe a sigh of relief this morning, we will continue to remain watchful as the sale of public lands could be reintroduced in the Senate.
