Alright, friends… we’re currently in 4th place for the #Webbys People’s Voice Awards, and we need your help to climb to the top (or at least get out of 4th, which feels like the “I’m trying” spot). 🏆 Here’s the deal: Click on the link & vote now! (You just have to enter your email & create a password- it’s quick!) ✅ It takes just a few seconds🌟 Let’s do this! Your vote could be the one that pushes us to #1… or at least closer to it. 😅 Thank you for helping us show the world how awesome this community is. You’re the real MVPs. 🙌 (fb)

Next week marks the 17th anniversary of my immigration to the U.S. I’ve struggled with my identity while growing up—I wasn’t quite Korean, and I wasn’t quite American. I was somewhere in between, and with different roles in each community. I didn’t realize how connected these different parts of my life were until much later in my life. Many mentors, friends, and colleagues along the way helped me realize that I should lean into this in-betweenness, and that this unique intersection of my identities is what makes me into the person I am. I am especially thankful for the @pdsoros fellowship, which provided me with an amazing New American community, as well as a newfound appreciation and understanding of my own identity. I’m happy to announce that today, I became a U.S. citizen! I postponed this decision for a while because I felt like I was abandoning my Korean identity, but I realized that becoming a naturalized citizen doesn’t necessarily mean I have to give this part of me up: as a citizen, I bring to the table a unique perspective and strengths that can only be possible because of my Korean heritage and culture. - Minjung Kim, 2024 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow (fb)
