Illinois Petroleum Resources Board
The IPRB was formed in 1998 to provide public awareness/education programs and to clean-up/restore abandoned oilfield sites throughout the state. The IPRB works to educate the public about Illinois' oil exploration and production industry. TO PROMOTE AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE BUSINESS OF OIL & GAS PRODUCTION IN ILLINOIS THROUGH EDUCATION AND PUBLIC RELATION. TO FOSTER GOODWILL TOWARDS THE INDUSTRY BY ENCOURAGING ENVIRONMENTALLY SOUND PRACTICES WITH RESPECT TO ONGOING PRODUCTION AND HISTORICAL OILFIELD PROBLEMS. TO SUPPORT RESEARCH RELATED TO OIL EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION AND PROBLEM REMEDIATION.
