We believe that all churches are set up to serve five kingdom purposes which carry out the “mission" of the church:Acts 2:42‐47• Outreach (Missions)• Worship (Exalt)• Fellowship (Encourage)• Discipleship (Edify)• Service (Equip)(Taken from The Purpose Driven Church by Rick Warren, pg. 119)We as a church allow the following five (5) core values to direct the ministries of the church:• God's Grace• Holy Scripture• Fervent Prayer• Life Stewardship• Sacrificial WorshipAccordingly, we have adopted as our mission statement:Following Jesus in love and service.We actively participate in local, national, and world missions in a variety of ways, including participatory giving to Southern Baptist missionary efforts through the Cooperative Program (5% of undesignated revenue via the California Southern Baptist Convention, 5% of undesignated revenue to the Orange County Southern Baptist Association, and we set aside 5% of undesignated revenue for our own "Local Missions Fund"). We commission a variety of mission trips annually (youth trips to San Diego/Mexico), including domestic missions (often in response to natural disaster relief), and to various other locations throughout the world (in 2016, to Zimbabwe and South Africa). We minister to our local community through a variety of sponsored activities on our own campus and at venues in our city and surrounding neighborhoods, such as the annual Walnut Family Festival in October.
