Founded in 1890 with the simple mission of promoting historic preservation education and patriotism the DAR remains strong and vitally relevant in this everchanging world. This nonprofit nonpolitical volunteer womens service organization consists of nearly 185000 members in 3000 chapters in all 50 states the District of Columbia and several foreign countries. These vibrant active women are the heart of our organization.
