On Friday, we had the honor of welcoming U.S. Representative Rick Larsen (WA-02) to Imagine Children’s Museum. During his visit, we toured our facility and had an important conversation about the unexpected termination of our $250,000 Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant, which was awarded to support Little Science Lab, our free, hands-on STEM program for preschool-age children across Snohomish County. This outreach program is offered for free at public libraries, community centers, preschools and ECEAP programs to bring high-quality STEM learning enrichment to children in their communities. It helps get ready for kindergarten and sparks a lifelong love of discovery. Many families rely on Little Science Lab to give their children the early childhood development experiences that will help them thrive later in life.
