Childcare Providers Association of Michigan
The Childcare Providers Association of Michigan (CPAOM) is a non-profit organization established to provide a collective voice for childcare providers in Michigan. It is registered as a 501(c)(6) organization, receiving its tax-exempt status in September 2021.
Background and Mission
CPAOM aims to improve the childcare industry in Michigan by advocating for providers' interests. The organization works towards creating a better environment for childcare providers, focusing on legislative changes and industry improvements. By working with MainStreet Legislative Consulting, CPAOM seeks to strengthen its influence in Lansing.
Membership and Activities
CPAOM offers membership benefits including peer-to-peer networking opportunities, allowing providers to share best practices and enhance their business operations. Members also gain access to training and education resources. In addition, CPAOM partners with the Small Business Association of Michigan, providing its members with free access to SBAM resources.
Advocacy and Influence
The association recognizes the importance of unified representation for childcare providers in Michigan. With over 12,000 providers in the state, CPAOM aims to bridge the gap between local providers and state policymakers. This includes working closely with relevant authorities to address regulatory challenges and improve funding and support for childcare services.
