There’s something truly special about those first few days with a new baby — and now, families delivering at ThedaCare in Appleton and Neenah have a new way to capture that joy. Thanks to the creativity and care of our Appleton/Neenah Family Birth Care Local Council, beautiful hand-painted murals now brighten our Family Birth Care units. These murals were inspired by other hospitals and brought to life by talented local student artists. Each one provides a joyful, meaningful backdrop for parents to snap a photo with their newborn before heading home — and serves as a daily dose of inspiration for our team members. Here’s who made it possible: • Appleton’s mural was painted by Molly Greeninger, an art education student at UW-Oshkosh • Neenah’s mural was created by Gianna Bay and Taylor Favorite, students from Fox Valley Lutheran High School • Valley Coatings generously donated all the paint and supplies, thanks to their team member Don Both murals proudly include the message “Delivered at Appleton/Neenah Family Birth Care,” connecting families to the place where their story begins. One new parent said it best: “It’s a beautiful place to capture a precious photo before we walk out the doors with our newest addition.” Another nurse shared, “It makes me smile every time I walk into work.” This project is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when creativity, community, and care come together — and we’re so proud to share it with the families we serve. Team members from ThedaCare Physicians-Wautoma had a blast at the annual Blue Ribbon Kids Day in Waushara County! This free Family Fun and Resource Fair is a great way for us to connect with the community and share tips for building healthy habits. We brought our “Sugar Shockers” display to show just how much sugar is hiding in popular drinks — a visual that always surprises parents and helps spark healthier choices at home. Kids also got moving with the Healthy Habits Hunt, learning fun ways to stay active on the playground or at home — and how to cut back on screen time. It’s always a joy to interact with families outside of the clinic and support lifelong wellness together.
