Highland Canine Connect

Leadership and Team

• Erin Purgason: The founder and chair of Highland Canine Connect, Erin has extensive experience in dog training and law enforcement. She is also the owner of Highland Canine Training, LLC.

• Elaine Lumsden: Elaine serves as the director and has a strong background in animal health, having managed an animal hospital and been active in wildlife rehabilitation.

• Kim Holland: As treasurer, Kim brings her expertise from over two decades in the healthcare industry, alongside her passion for community service.

• Board Members: Other key members include Susan Ervin, who serves as an attorney advocate, and Kim Tatum, who has a background in criminal justice and is involved in animal rescue efforts.

Impact and Events

Highland Canine Connect hosts an annual Cornhole Fundraiser, which is a significant event featuring local vendors and a competitive tournament. Proceeds from this event support community initiatives, including their Dogs in Schools program and service dog donations.

The organization is committed to community advocacy and teamwork through partnerships, highlighting values such as changing behavior, outcome-driven initiatives, and empathy in its mission.
