Although we are spread throughout the country we have come together to honor our ancestors and share some of their stories and contributions to America. Our Purpose Shady Grove Cemetery in Cape Girardeau County MO. Our purpose is to preserve our familys historic enslaved and freedmens cemetery from further erosion vandalism and encroachment and to restore and maintain Shady Grove Cemetery a registered national historic site as a vital piece of American history.
