Lazarus House Initiative, Inc. (LHI), believes that effective social services should foster an empowering transformative experience individuals, families, and communities. Consistent with this belief, we strive to equip low- to moderately low-income individuals and families, including those with no income, to combat and overcome inherent systemic barriers to equitable opportunities for affordable housing, quality learning experiences, and motivating life experiences. Building on our anchors, we adapt a transformative-servant leader methodology to break links between generational/cultural poverty, learned helplessness, system dependency, and downward social mobility and to aid in the acquisition and mobilization of social network resources and social capital needed to improve their statuses
