The Shreveport Bar Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization: Provides legal assistance to low income clients & Legal Rep. For Victims of Domestic Abuse. The Shreveport Bar Foundation (SBF) acts as the charitable arm of the Shreveport Bar Association. The THE SHREVEPORT BAR FOUNDATION (SBF) PROVIDES CHARITABLE LEGAL ASSISTANCE & EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES TO THE PUBLIC AND OPERATES A PRO BONO PROJECT PROVIDING FREE CIVIL LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO LOW INCOME CLIENTS AT OR BELOW THE FEDERAL POVERTY INCOME LEVEL IN AREAS OF FAMILY LAW, DOMESTIC PROTECTIVE ORDERS, SUCCESSIONS, & OTHER MISCELLANEOUS CIVIL LEGAL MATTERS.

In this capacity the Foundation board and its volunteers fundraise through various events and then make annual grant donations to local charities. Past recipients include the Martin Luther King Health Center Volunteers for Youth Justice Habitat for Humanity Soldiers of Compassion Pool of Siloam and Literacy Volunteers at Centenary College. Organizations who would like to be considered for funding should submit a grant application for consideration.
