Sonoma Valley Museum of Art
Located in downtown Sonoma, the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art (SVMA) was founded in 1998 to provide a gathering space for artists, collectors, community members and art enthusiasts of all ages. The 8,000 square foot facility hosts 4-5 exhibitions annually, focusing on modern and contemporary art and artists with strong connections to the community. SVMA also has a 2,500-volume art, architecture and design research library.
Annually, more than 13,000 visitors attend the museum. The program reaches an additional 700 local school children each year through A.R.T.S. (Art Rewards the Student), and Young Artists & Writers Workshop (YAW). Both A.R.T.S. and YAW's curriculum is designed around current SVMA exhibitions.
The SVMA belongs to you - the people in our community.
