"Stephen has been at Avondale House for almost two years. It’s been really nice having an accepting place for him to go. There was an occasion when I dropped him off and his eagerness to almost run into the hallway and into his room really warmed my heart. Stephen doesn’t run, but his version of running we would recognize as being excited—he had his backpack on and just ran into his room. It is so nice to have a place for him to go every day, to meet new people and do things outside the house. Having that structure in his life is so important—he really thrives on that.
