HIAS ECONOMIC ADVANCEMENT FUND, INC. (EAF) IS A NONPROFIT CORPORATION ORGANIZED AND OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY THE CHARITABLE PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING HIAS, INC., A NONPROFIT CORPORATION (HIAS), RECOGNIZED AS A PUBLIC CHARITY AND QUALIFYING UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE U.S. INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986, AS AMENDED (CODE). HIAS PROVIDES VITAL SERVICES TO REFUGEES AND ASYLUM SEEKERS AROUND THE WORLD AND ADVOCATES FOR THEIR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS SO THEY CAN REBUILD THEIR LIVES. EAF IS REQUIRED UNDER ITS GOVERNING DOCUMENTS TO SUPPORT HIAS IN THE PURSUIT OF THIS TAX-EXEMPT MISSION. EAF MEETS THE NEEDS OF LOW-INCOME FORCIBLY DISPLACED INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING REFUGEES, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THEIR COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES THAT PROMOTE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND FINANCIAL WELL-BEING.

Who We Are Who We Are We meet refugee entrepreneurs where they are increasing their capacity to start or grow their business and advance their goals. HIAS Economic Advancement Fund EAFis a nonprofit organization and emerging Community Development Financial Institution CDFI Loan Fund that provides refugees and other forcibly displaced entrepreneurs access to capital so they can launch and grow their businesses. Through affiliate partners in twelve metro areas we also provide business technical assistance and training that responds to the unique needs of each entrepreneur.
