The Denver Center for Intercultural Scholars: supporting immersive educational travel since 1997 The DCIS FOUNDATION'S mission is to advocate for and financially support immersive K-12 student educational travel, whether local, national, or international. We provide funding for focused activities including language learning, academic exchanges and school visits, peer-to-peer and community engagement, host family connections, as well as cultural learning experiences. The impact: 1) Increased multilingual abilities and cultural awareness (languages: Japanese, French, Lakota, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, and Spanish) 2) Enriched connection to curriculum and learning 3) Expanded curiosity and motivation 4) Improved confidence and independence 5) Strengthened purpose and worth/value in an ever-changing world
