May 1, 2025, Dachau, Germany. Betty Chin, daughter of Corporal Thomas S. F. Chin, 42nd ID, at the 80 Anniversary commemoration of the Liberation of Dachau. He received the Bronze Star for Valor during the final push to defeat the Nazis on the Western Front. To my knowledge, he was the only Chinese-American combat GI involved at the Liberation. (fb)
