Conserving land to protect the natural ecosystems and rural character of Vashon-Maury Island It is the mission of the Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust to conserve land and to protect the natural ecosystems and rural character of Vashon-Maury Island for the benefit of the public and future generations. The Land Trust values land in its natural condition with intact native biological diversity, and strives to preserve it for future generations. The Land Trust recognizes that Vashon-Maury Island shares a single aquifer, a single shoreline, and is a single, unified system. The Land Trust values the sense of community among Vashon-Maury Islanders and works to develop a community ethic supporting Island-wide stewardship of natural resources.
