Architecture, Engineering, Public Health, Social History - it's all here at the Waterworks Museum! The corporation shall be organized for the following purposes: 1) to operate a museum that educates the general public and technical audiences through exhibitions, programs and collections that address the historic significance of the Metropolitan Waterworks and High Service Pumphouse and engines, steam technology, the history of the metropolitan water system, the role of water in the development of the City of Boston, water conservation, and similar themes; 2) to promote the restoration and preservation of the High Service Pumphouse and engines; 3) to provide a community meeting space; and 4) to undertake such other activities as may be necessary or appropriate to further the purposes of the Corporation consistent with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and Chapter 180 of the Massachusetts General Laws.
