MSIA – Michigan Self Insurers' Association EDUCATING EMPLOYERS ON WORKERS COMPENSATION AND BEYOND EDUCATING EMPLOYERS ON WORKERS COMPENSATION The Michigan SelfInsurers Association MSIA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the rights of largedeductible and selfinsured employers. To accomplish this we provide best practice guidance targeted education for workers compensation and disability management professionals and advocacy for the legislative needs of employers and their employees. These measures help to lower expenses minimize lost work time and boost employee productivity. History In 1951 after recognizing the need to provide a forum for workers compensation issues in the business community representatives from several Michigan businesses formed the Michigan Selfinsurers Association.
