MISSION – La Tierra del Jaguar saves jaguars by teaching skills and empowering people to partner with nature and heal the land. The mission of La Tierra del Jaguar is to teach regenerative skills and empower people to coexist with nature in places inhabited by jaguars. We work hand-in-hand with ranchers and communal landowners to achieve a cultural shift so that wildlife, especially jaguars, is respected rather than reviled. We promote the benefits of biodiversity, landscape restoration, regenerative agriculture, permaculture, crop diversity, rotational grazing, and alternative income streams. We strive to bring benefits for people and jaguars, and believe these communities can embrace the resiliency of nature.

Our work with ranching communities addresses the needs of the local people while implementing changes to heal the land after centuries of overgrazing. Our Approach Our solution to human and jaguar coexistence involves the application of regenerative systems to restore jaguar habitat and improve financial stability of communities. By tying economic performance to ecological health we create incentives for people to be stewards of their ecosystems.
