Sonny thanks you for all your thoughts and prayers! The surgery went well yesterday. Our friends at the Hospital for Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery in Matthews, NC were able to remove the teeth and close the very large hole in his pallet during a long and very extensive procedure. If he heals well, he may only need one surgery, which would be amazing. He's got a feeding tube for the next two weeks and is on strong pain meds. And we are hopeful that after it heals that he will be able to eat and drink without gagging. Thanks to your generous donations, Sonny is at the Vet specialist and the surgeons are starting the first of likley multiple surgeries for the very large defect in the roof of his mouth. He will head home to his foster home with a feeding tube tonight. Send your thoughts and prayers his way for this major surgery. (fb)
