Its purpose is to enhance arts culture and heritage activities throughout the county. It fulfills this purpose primarily by awarding grants for projects in these areas to cultural nonprofits or individuals sponsored by them. Between 2005 and 2024 MCDC has awarded over 560000 with more than 300grants to over 116 different organizations.
