In Memoriam: Taina Elg (1930–2024) Finlandia Foundation National mourns the passing of beloved actress and 2015 Lecturer of the Year, Taina Elg. A Golden Globe-winning performer and lifelong artist, Taina's extraordinary journey took her from the ballet stages of Finland to the bright lights of Hollywood and Broadway. Her LOY presentation, "From Finland to Stardom: An Evening with Taina Elg", hosted with Heli Sirviö, offered an unforgettable glimpse into her world—sharing memories, insights, and behind-the-scenes stories from her dazzling career. Taina's legacy lives on through her many film, television, and stage roles, as well as the inspiration she offered to generations of Finnish-Americans and fans around the world. We are honored to have celebrated her story and grateful for her lasting contribution to the arts. Kiitos, Taina.
