Students in Downingtown Area School District turned up the music — and the impact — at this year’s Cam-a-Thon, raising over $45,000 to help find safer, more effective treatments for childhood leukemia. This 12-hour dance-a-thon honors the life and legacy of Cameron Evans, a Downingtown Area School District student who bravely battled leukemia and passed away in 2012 at just 14 years old. Cam-a-Thon is more than just dancing — it’s a powerful night of unity, games, sports tournaments, and purpose. Since its beginning, the event has raised nearly $300,000 in support of childhood cancer research. Proceeds from the event supported Cure4Cam, a Hero Fund of Alex’s Lemonade Stand created by Cameron’s mom, Regina, who remains passionate about raising funds to support the development of new and more humane cancer therapies for children.
