Home - Carolina Great Pyrenees Rescue

Carolina Great Pyrenees Rescue is dedicated to helping these gentle fluffy giants in NC and SC. Carolina Great Pyrenees Rescue is a non-profit based out of the Charlotte metro area that works to rescue and rehome abandoned and abused Pyrs in North and South Carolina. We were established in 1992 in Winston-Salem by Martha Rehmeyer, and we moved to our current location in 2016 when Martha retired. We are a member of the Great Pyrenees Club of America (GPCA). Our volunteer-based organization advocates for the breed and educates others about the proper care of these “gentle giants.” We also serve as a resource for Pyr owners throughout the region whether or not they adopted through CGPR. We sponsor social events and maintain an on-line presence that enables Pyr people to meet and communicate with one another because we believe that celebrating the wonderful dogs who share our homes.

Ingrid Lucy Layla Rhonda Forky Cutter and Chopper Luca Stacy Lance Bobbie Lizzy Skye and Stark Abby Adoption Policies Overview The majority of our Pyrs require solid and securely fenced yards to thrive. We occasionally make exceptions for experienced Pyr owners who understand the breeds strong instinct to roam and commit to keeping the Pyr onleash when outside. We do not place Pyrs in homes where chains tieouts or underground fencing is used.
