Concierge Cancer Center was created to provide a haven and a host of services for individuals that have just learned they have cancer all the way through to survival. The founder of Concierge Cancer Center, Kim Bergeron, was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2001 with less than one year to live. After a myriad of emotions, she realized she had a simple choice: surrender to the disease and yield to the “experts" – or approach tackling this news just as she would a business problem, a process her year's of experience in the tech industry taught her, and beat this thing? She chose to fight!Kim got to work interviewing surgeons to pick the best one for her instead of the other way around, preparing for each appointment with a list of questions, challenging her doctors, pushing them to obtain the latest treatments with the newest technology no matter how long it took, getting second opinions, putting on her beanies and wigs and continuing to go to the gym, yoga, acupuncture, green tea, meditation, prayer – she did it all!. Now 15 years later, she conquered the predictions and proceeded with her life – on her terms. Thus the reason for Concierge Cancer Center , a non-profit 501c3 - The Center is in the startup phase to provide a 'haven', serene homey environment for patients to find kindness, courage, understanding, energy, laughter and will. The Center will provide the services for each patient's needs much the same way Kim did for herself, she wants to help and equip patients with the will, the grit to 'fight'. She wants to be their 'Fight Coach!'In addition to patients prescribed treatments, there are many things they can do to enhance and affect their mental and physical health during their fight. The Center will be offering advocacy, navigation, yoga for cancer, oncology massage therapy, acupuncture, light workouts, nutrition, prayer, meditation and a boutique for wig fittings, toupee's and other feel good merchandise.Join us in becoming a Cancer Warrior through in-kind or monetary support.
