Whittier Art Association
The Whittier Art Association exists to advance art appreciation by the public.The Whittier Art Gallery, operated by the Whittier Art Association, is the only facility in the area presenting free, ever-changing exhibits of art in many unique media, to inform and educate the public. The WAA sponsors 3 month-long juried exhibits each year featuring a wide variety of media by many artists. Training and assistance is provided to educate artists on proper presentation for gallery display and publicity. One month each year the gallery is provided free of charge to the local school districts for display of childrens art. The remainder of the year groups or individual artists hold exhibits of their artwork. Throughout the year special events coordinating with the exhibits feature working artists educational demonstrations, cultural performances, entertainment, and inspiration. Knowledgeable WAA members are on hand to provide information throughout the month. The Gallery hosts approximately 250

The Association built the Whittier Art Gallery in 1939 and began exhibiting the work of many of the most prominent artists in the Southland. For over 80 years the Gallery has provided monthly art exhibits at no charge to the public. The Whittier Art Association and Gallery is a nonprofit 501 c3.
