Founded in 1968, Windward Buddhist Temple is a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Temple located in Kailua, Oahu. Kailua Hongwanji Mission was established in 1968 in Kailua, Hawaii as a branch of the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii. Kailua Hongwanji Mission, dba Windward Buddhist Temple, strives to provide an all-inclusive and all-embracing environment rooted in the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist teachings of wisdom and compassion enabling all to live in harmony, peace and gratitude.
