One Pencil
One Pencil is a nonprofit organization with a focus on bridging educational outreach & science. One Pencil supports indigenous populations in Africa and South America by providing supporting educational and community development, as well as as public health and community based research among rural and semi-urban indigenous communities at various transitions into the market economy. Communities supported by One Pencil also participate in transformative research in the fields of Anthropology, Biology, Medicine, Public Health, Psychology and Human Development, as scientists (including several members of our Board of Directors), explore fundamental questions about learning, health, and development.
