Coming Soon to Yerba Buena Center for the Arts: Harvey Milk Reimagined. Opening May 31, Harvey Milk Reimagined is a bold new opera from Opera Parallèle, inspired by the life and legacy of San Francisco’s first openly gay elected official. The production traces Milk’s journey from closeted Wall Street businessman to outspoken civil rights leader. The GLBT Historical Society has partnered with YBCA to curate a special lobby display of Milk’s personal artifacts—including letters, campaign materials, and photographs—that deepen the story on stage and highlight Milk’s lasting impact. Experience the opera and our unique display during the show’s run, May 31–June 7. “I’ve been learning about how important intergenerational queer community is, the importance of building relationships with our queer elders who have survived against all odds, and protecting the legacy of the ones we have lost too soon.” — Éamon McGivern Éamon McGivern’s A/History is now open at the GLBT Historical Society Museum! Visit to experience this powerful new exhibition, which draws on McGivern’s personal memory and archival research to reflect on the lives and legacies of queer and trans elders whose absence continues to shape contemporary life. 📍 GLBT Historical Society Museum | Now On View 🔗 Learn more & Plan Your Visit: glbthistory.org/ahistory #EamonMcGivern #LGBTQHistory #GLBTHistoricalSociety #QueerArt #TransHistory #SanFranciscoArt Photo Credit: Ian Fullmer (fb)
